Rutherfordton– Shirley Shults Stacey, age 77, of Rutherfordton, passed away on October 22, 2021.  She was born in Mill Spring, NC.  She grew up in Landrum and
graduated from Landrum High School.  She went on to graduate from Cecil’s
Business School in Spartanburg.  Shirley worked at Landrum Mills.  She was a
member of Sandy Springs First Baptist Church.
Shirley and her husband Dean met in a horse club and married in July 1970.
They were married 51 years.  She loved to ride horses and loved the
outdoors.
Shirley is survived by her husband Dean Stacey; two daughters Melissa Turner
(Todd) and Angela Gillie (Steve); five grandchildren Jared, Felicia and
Miranda Stacey, Savannah and Maddie Gillie; two great grandchildren Alyssa
Stacey and Jamie Conner. She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Minnie Shults; four brothers Warren, W.C., Carl and Charles Shults; and 3 sisters Nellie Wilson, Margaret Mosely and Maude (Toots) Cox.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm Monday, October 25, 2021 at
Sandy Springs First Baptist Church.  A graveside service will follow in the
church cemetery at 3:00pm conducted by Rev. Terrell Dillingham and Rev. Ken
Kirkley.
