Pauline Russell

Pauline Dennise Russell of Columbus, N.C. passed away on January 1, 2018.

Pauline was a renowned Horsewoman with many accolades, including holding World Record in the Quarter Horse 150 Yd. Sprint in 7.02 seconds, being awarded Canadian Trainer of the Year, and organizing the first ever $100,000 Showjumping event in North America. Pauline trained many of the world’s top Hunter/Jumper equestrians.

Born in Ealing, England and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Pauline was extremely proud to realize her lifelong dream of becoming an American citizen in July 2017.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas Green Harper and June Sylvia Lane Wall.

She is survived by her husband Vick  Russell; five sons, Clayton Lee Russell (Jazmine), Thomas John Russell (Samantha), Lincoln Max Russell (Lucy), Shawn Victor Russell (Natalie), and John Victor Russell;  daughters , Amanda  Cooper, Suzanne Williams Russell,  and  Kristen Cox; the godmother of her children, Julie Russell Dickson; a brother, John Edward Harper; a sister, Bonnie Lynn Harper; 10 grandchildren,  Victoria, Macie, Oshyn, John Cru, Cannon, Chance, Jacob , Allister, Oliver, Lincoln Victor, and her granddaughter due in the spring, and 2 great grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriella.

Pauline was loved and respected by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Petty Funeral Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Foundation for Mammography Assistance Fund, PO Box 2624, Spartanburg, SC  29304. Condolences may be left at www.pettyfuneralhome.com.
