She was the daughter of Harley and Nellie Dalton Foy. She was the widow of Jonas David Halford, who died in 1997. Mrs. Halford was a member of Mill Spring Baptist Church.

Surviving are six children, Geraldine Cantrell (Ed), Joyce Halford, Sue O&squo;Sullivan (Jim), Mike Halford (Carolyn), Jerry Halford (Sandy) and Gary Halford (Cathy); three brothers, Earl Foy (Ruth), Jesse Foy (Shirley) and Fred Foy (Julie), and one sister-in-law, Charlene Foy. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Halford was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Linda Cantrell, two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, with Rev. Dean Elliott officiating. &bsp;

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon.

The family will be at the home on 421 Hwy. #9 South, Mill Spring, N.C.
