Edward Jaye Long, 78, of Mill Spring, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2013 in Autumn Care Nursing Center, Saluda.
Born in Appleton, Ga. he was the son of the late Thomas and Jane Underwood Long.  Mr. Long moved to Mill Spring in 2007 coming from Bradenton, Fla. He retired from Tropicana in Bradenton, Fla. and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Surviving are three sons, Edward Jackson Long (Doreen) of Mill Spring, James Kenneth Long (Denise) and George Thomas Long (Brandy) both of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, John Thomas Long of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Ruby Burden of Apopka, Fla. and Mary Brooker of Bradenton, Fla. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus.
