Geneva Durham Cochran

Geneva Durham Cochran, 91, of Columbus passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at The Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum.

Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Josie Henderson Durham and widow of Fred B. Cochran who died in 2002.

She retired from Southern Woven Label Mill in Columbus. Mrs. Cochran enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is one son, Albert Cochran (Janice) of Mill Spring; one daughter, Lois Edwards (Larry) of Columbus; one brother, Burley Durham (Dorothy) of Tryon; one sister, Louise Flynn of Columbus. Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Sunday, August 18, 2013 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Dr. Chris Osborn officiating. Pallbearers were Teresa Cochran, Robbie Edwards, Timothy Edwards, Brandon Edwards, Zane Johnson and Jake Johnson.

Burial was held in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus.
