Doris Seipel Kissmann, 94, of Columbus, NC passed away Thursday afternoon, February 21, 2013 in Tryon Estates Medical Facility, Columbus.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the  late Charles J. and Beatrice Keller Seipel and wife of the late Ernest G. Kissmann who died in 1994.  Mrs. Kissmann was a retired legal assistant, member of the Senior Citizens of Rye, NY and volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital in Harrison, NY for 12 years.  She moved to Polk County, NC in 1993 coming from Rye, NY.

Surviving are two step-sons, David Kissmann of Charlotte, NC and Robert Kissmann of New Fairfield, CT.  Also surviving are five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the hero of our family.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013  in the Tryon Estates Auditorium, Columbus, NC with Rev. Ralph Kuether officiating.
