Polk County District Court results – September 13, 2023

In Polk County District Court on September 13, 2023, with Judge James Marshall presiding, 106 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.        

 

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Alaina Grace Altizer was convicted of fleeing or eluding arrest with a motor vehicle. Alitzer was sentenced to one day in jail, with one day credit time served.

 

Christopher Brown was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Brown was sentenced to 7 to 18 months in jail, suspended for 24 months of supervised probation. Brown must also complete a substance abuse assessment.

 

Emily Hinojosa was convicted of driving while impaired. Hinojosa was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation. Hinojosa must complete 24 hours of community service and a substance abuse assessment and was fined $100 plus court costs.

 

Riley Mason Thompson was charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon. Thompson was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation.

 

Steven Wayne Waters was convicted of possession of methamphetamine. Waters was sentenced to 4 to 14 months in jail, suspended for 24 months of supervised probation. Waters must also complete a substance abuse assessment and pay fined lab fees.
