Polk County District Court results – 3/29/23

In Polk County District Court on March 29, 2023, with Gene Johnson presiding, 71 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.  

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

 

John Phillip Canning was convicted of obstruction of justice. Canning was sentenced to 6 to 17 months in jail, suspended for 24 months of supervised probation. 

 

Jonathan Lewis Edwards was convicted of driving after consuming alcohol under the age of 21. Edwards was sentenced to 10 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, and 20 hours of substance abuse treatment. Edwards also has to pay court costs. 

 

Bruce J. Kennedy was convicted of speeding. Kennedy was fined $25 plus court costs.

 

Matthew Kiel Kensland was convicted of possession of methamphetamine.  Kensland was sentenced to 6 to 17 months in jail, suspended for 24 months of supervised probation, and was ordered to get a drug abuse treatment assessment.

 

Da’Finess Patterson was convicted of speeding and careless and reckless driving. Patterson was fined $100 and court costs. 

 

Roque Chic Saul-David was convicted of speeding. Saul-David was fined $50 plus court costs.

 

Max James Schumacher was convicted of driving while impaired. Schumacher was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended for 12 months of unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, and was ordered to get a drug and alcohol assessment. 

 

Antonio Ray Suber was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ of an ounce. Suber was fined $25 and court costs. 

 

Joshua Gregory Wood was convicted of assault on a female. Wood was sentenced to 17 days in jail, with time served.
