Lee A. Cobourn

Tryon– On November 3, 2022 Lee Cobourn passed away at the age of 82. Born in Salem, Ohio on Christmas day of 1939.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Peggy. He is survived by Jeaneen, his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, his daughters Cathy (Glenn), Debbie (Hill), and his son Ken (Jennifer) as well as grandchildren Matt, Mark, Will, Alex, Charli, Mollie, Cori, and seven great grandchildren.

Lee was an Eagle Scout, an Army Captain, and a Civil Engineering graduate of Youngstown University and got his master’s at Purdue. As part of a long and rewarding career, he built his own engineering company from a back room at home to a highly respected Surveying, Engineering, and Architectural firm in Houston, Texas. After retiring, he and Jeaneen moved to Tryon where Lee and his son Ken opened Blue Ridge Lawn and Power, which they operated for many years.

Lee loved his family, his career, his projects, and volunteering with Habitat and Kiwanis. He was extremely honored and very grateful to his friends from these organizations that spent two full days completing the dock project he had started and was unable to finish.

There will be no public service. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate Lee’s life and share their many cherished remembrances.
