Columbus– Jack Wayne Hardin aged 77 of 327 Blanton Street Columbus NC died peacefully in his home early Friday morning November 4, 2022.
Jack was a beloved and lifelong member of Polk County; he served in Law Enforcement for 25 years with the Tryon Police Department and was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church.
Jack was predeceased by his son Jonathan Wayne Hardin. He is survived by his loving wife Doris Ann Hardin, his daughter Lori Lynn Whitt, his grandchildren Bethany Lassiter (Anthony), Sarah Painter (Matthew), and David Hefner, and his great-grandchildren Carson and Kenzie Hefner. Jack also considered John Dyer like a son and is survived by him as well.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Temple Baptist Church in Mill Spring NC. The service will be officiated by Pastor Chris Osborne. There will not be a public graveside service. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at a luncheon provided by the church.
To be chosen to be loved by Jack was the greatest honor one could receive. His loyalty and love were unwavering and his dedication to his chosen family was beyond compare. A light has gone out in Polk County and it will never be replaced.
