GREEN CREEK – Robert Allan Cantrell, 53, of Green Creek, passed away, Saturday morning, November 13, 2021.

Born in Spartanburg County, he was the son of Robert David Cantrell of Green Creek and the late Joan Melton Cantrell. Allan attended Polk Central High School and started his career working for Spartanburg Regional Transport Service. Later he began with Polk County EMS and Mission Hospital as a flight paramedic and was a National Registered Critical Care Paramedic. His career spanned 30 plus years serving Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina.

Allan was a dedicated father and grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

Surviving in addition to his father is his wife of 33 years, Mary Cantrell; one daughter, Jessica Bren (Scott) of Green Creek; one stepson, Adam Page (Summer) of Green Creek; three grandchildren, Mariah, Carter and Brynna; one brother, Michael Cantrell (Cathy) of Landrum; one nephew, Mason Cantrell.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Terrell Dillingham officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
