Richard Arland Points, age 85, of Columbus, N.C., passed away August 18, 2017 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, S.C.

Richard was born in Covington, Ky. to Charles Daniel and Mary Pauline (Agler) Points. He grew up in Ohio City, Ohio. He spent four years in the United States Navy with honorable discharge. Richard was retired from American Airlines and moved to Polk County in 1995.

Services will be private.
