Polk County District Court results for Jan. 27

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 132 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Thomas Edward Carroll was convicted of failure to wear rear seat belt. Carroll was fined $50.

Kenneth Scott Downs was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Downs was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

Caleb William Driver was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Driver was fined $50 and court costs.

Dan William Easley was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Easley was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Francisco J. Galicia was convicted of driving while license revoked. Galicia was to pay court costs.

David Howard Hooker was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Hooker was fined $100 and court costs.

Cecil Ray Jackson was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Jackson was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

John Lewis Land III was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Land was fined $50 and court costs.

David Edwin Latham was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Latham was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Roy Lee Lyles Jr. was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Lyles was fined $40 and court costs.

James Alexander Metcalf was convicted of speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. Metcalf was fined $30 and court costs.

Constance Prendergast was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Prendergast was sentenced to two years supervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

Christopher Anthony Ryan was convicted of take migratory game bird. Ryan was fined $250 and court costs and state license revoked.

Philip Fricis Salks was convicted of resisting public officer. Salks was sentenced to 17 days in jail with credit for time served and court costs.

Ricky Allen Tucker II was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Tucker was fined $50 and court costs.

Tyler Brooks Wallace was convicted of take migratory game bird. Wallace was fined $250 and court costs and state license revoked.

William Marshal Young was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of schedule II controlled substance. Young was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $1,000 fine and court costs.
