Polk County Middle School track teams set records

Though April 1 brought many foolish pranks and fun teasers, Polk County Middle School track teams setting many records at its home meet was no joke. Mariah Overholt hit a triple. Hitting a triple in track means assisting the team in setting three new school records. Overholt took first place in the girl’s long jump and set a new school record of 14-3.5.
The girl’s 4×200 relay (Overholt, Teon Mullins, Julianna Robbins and Aislin Salerno) took first place in 2:03.39 and the 4×400 Relay (Overholt, Izzy Jackson, Sadie Allen and Salerno) took fourth in 5:04.86, both performances were new PCMS records. Cheyenne Hipp set a new record in the 100-meter hurdles in 19.52.
Arnie Twitty cleared 5-6 to win and set a new school record in boy’s high jump.
