SOFTBALL: Chase spoils Polk’s regular-season home finale, romps to 15-0 win

Chase erupted for 12 runs in the third inning Tuesday en route to handing Polk County a 15-0 setback in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference matchup at Polk.
The Trojans (12-8, 6-5) held a 3-0 lead after two innings, then sent 15 batters to the plate in the third en route to ending the game after three innings.
Elizabeth Vitale had the only hit for Polk County (8-10, 2-9), which played without starters Mia Bradley (injury) and Laney Littlefield (FFA trip).
The two teams are scheduled to meet again Thursday in the regular-season finale for the Wolverines.
