Polk superior court results Dec. 2

In a Polk County Superior Court Administrative Session held Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, with Judge Mark E. Powell presiding, 35 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or remanded to district court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):
Joshua Logan Briggs was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Briggs was sentenced to pay court costs.
Fred E. Counts was convicted of two counts felony probation violation. Counts’ probation was terminated.
Robert William Hudson was convicted of three counts of felony probation violation out of county. Hudson’s probation was revoked with sentences to run consecutively.
Waleed Hassan Khalil was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container after consumption of alcohol first. On the driving while impaired charge, Khalil was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs. On the possession and open container charges, he was sentenced to pay a fine of $100 and court costs.
Jabari C. Mosley was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Mosley was to pay court costs.
Michael Todd Westbrooks was convicted of felony probation violation. Westbrooks’ probation was terminated with a 137 day in jail sentence enacted.
