Charles Reder

Charles Simonds Reder, 98, of Keene, N.H., died April 26, 2010, following a fall. He lived in Mtn. Shadows, Columbus, from 1978-1998 with his late wife, Theresa (Polly) Reder.
Born August 18, 1911, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Morris Reder and Annette LeBow and stepmother, Adele Keisman. He also was preceded in death by two brothers and is survived by his identical twin and a half brother.
He also is survived by his four children, Janet Reder Hersey, her former husband David Hersey, and her partner, Jay Ham, Anacortes, Wa.; Jeffrey Reder and wife Carrie, Hancock, N.H.; David Reder and wife Kathy, Stroudsburg, Pa.; and Nancy Reder and husband Peter Pocock, Alexandria, Va. Also by seven grandchildren, Page and Tyler Hersey, Dana and Matthew Reder, Jacob and Emily Reder, and Hannah Pocock.
A 1938 graduate of Harvard, he served in the Navy during the World War II Normandy invasion, retiring as a lieutenant commander. He had successful careers in mens clothing, restaurants, and armored cars.
