He was born in Greenville, S.C., and was the son of Rev. George Browning and Mrs. Lane Porter Goldsmith Jr. of Clinton.

Mr. Goldsmith was a salesman for Detroit Forming Co., was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and was instrumental in James Williams Chapter of Laurens, Saluda and Newberry counties.

In addition to his parents, he is also survived by two brothers, George B. Goldsmith III of Travelers Rest and James B. P. Goldsmith of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 6 at the All Saints Episcopal Church. Interment was at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
