She was the widow of Rev. J. B. Strange, who died in 2005.

Strange was a native of Mill Spring, and a daughter of the late KewDeso and Nora Nix Jones. She was a former employee of Carolina Cash at Duncan Park and a member of Valley Falls First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, John M. Strange of Boiling Springs; daughters, Jennie Ruth Turner of Inman, Martha Gaston of Rock Hill, S.C., and Linda Strange of Boiling Springs; brother, James E. Jones of Spartanburg, S.C.; sisters, Gaynor Creger of California, and Georgina Berlin of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, one niece and one nephew also survive her.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday,

Feb. 7, 2009 at Eggers Funeral Chapel of Boiling Springs, officiated by Dr. John Lancaster and Rev. Mark Bishop. Interment was in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
