He was retired from the S.C. Highway Department and was a Baptist.
He is survived by two daughters, Doris Pace (Bud) of Sunny View and Carolyn Green (Harrill) of Landrum; a brother, Odell Pruitt of Greer; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Harold Pruitt, two sisters, Annie Mae Hammett and Elsie Green, a brother, Walter Pruitt, and a great grandson, Hayden Green.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at Walnut Hill Bapist Church, conducted by Dr. John Fortner. The family will receive friends following the service in the church.
The family is at their respective homes.
