Mama Kate was born in Indianapolis, Ind., to Rev. David and Mamie Bryant Kelly.

She was a faithful and lifelong member of Landrum Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Logan was licensed to preach on March 4, 1973. She became the assistant pastor of Landrum Springs.

Surviving are her son, Scottie Doggett of Campobello; her daughter, Pamela Sherman of Landrum; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three godchildren; one uncle, Cornelius Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at the Landrum Springs Baptist Church, Landrum.

Cannon & Sons Mortuary of Landrum was in charge of arrangements.
