Walt Robbins

He was a native of Caldwell County, N.C., and the son of Zed Robbins and the late Margaret Robbins. He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and a former deacon. He served as Sunday School Superintendent for some 27 years. He was a World War II army veteran, and was a saw miller.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Brady Robbins; four daughters, Jeanette Jackson and Sharon Salyers, both of Union Mills, and Wanda McGuinn and Dale Wilson, both of Mill Spring; also, a sister Pansy Parker of Union Mills; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at McMahan&squo;s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. at Welcome Home Baptist Church. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
