formerly of Lyman, passed June 29, 2008. He was a member of Greater Bibleway Tabernacle Church, and a retired employee with J. P. Stevenson.

Survivors include three daughters, Nellie Maybin of Duncan, Lenora Ballenger of Greenville, and Jennie Nelson of Lyman; three sons, James Benson, of Greenville, and Bernard Ballenger Jr., of Lyman; two brothers, James A. Ballenger and Horace L. Ballenger of Lyman; eighteen grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with dove release. Online condolences may be sent to www.sullivanbrosmortuary.com.
