A native of Landrum, he was the son of the late Landrum Thomas and Mary Ann Gris-wold Howard. He was the husband of Dietra Roach Howard for 44 years. He was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church, a Mason with Landrum Lodge and was a retired engineer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Phillip&bsp; Howard of Anderson, Marc&bsp; Howard of Gaffney; a brother, Larry Howard of Polk County; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services took place Sunday, April 13 at the Petty Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Fred Siegfried and Rev. Bobby Pierce. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
