Jack Clinton Rose

Jack Clinton Rose, 86, died at Tryon Estates in Columbus, N.C. on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. He was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. on July 5, 1928. He studied engineering at North Carolina State University and was married to Sarann “Ann” Voss for 64 years.

After working at the Bahnson Company for many years, Jack co-founded Salem Distributing Company, furnishers of equipment and supplies to optical firms and the flat glass industry.

He retired as the company’s Vice-President in 1987.A life-long member of Home Moravian Church, Jack served several terms on the Board of Elders. In 1995 he and Ann moved to a home they had built on the Outer banks of North Carolina. In 2003 they moved to Tryon Estates, a retirement community in Columbus, N.C. where Jack continued to enjoy the golf and trout fishing that had been part of his life for many years. He served as president of the Tryon Estates Resident Association, and he and Ann joined Tryon Presbyterian Church.

He was predeceased by a son, Keith Clinton Rose. He is survived by his wife, Ann; a daughter, Karen Suzanne Rose of Cary; and a grandson, Keith Shawn Rose of Pilot Mountain.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Salem Moravian Graveyard (God’s Acre) in Old Salem. Memorials may be made to Home Moravian Church for graveyard upkeep, 529 S.
