Hollis M. Owens Jr. of Rutherfordton died Sept. 12.

His wife, Frances Smith Owens predeceased him. He is survived by his children, Fran Waters of Forest City, N.C. and Chip Owens of Rutherfordton, N.C.; brothers, Andrew of Jacksonville, Fla. and Charles of Murrell’s Inlet, S.C.; and cousin, Edith Dula of Forest City.

Services will be held Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Rutherfordton.
