Stott racks up multiple top three finishes

 

A number of area racers enjoyed success on a busy Independence Day weekend at local tracks.

Area dirt bike and dirt track racers took the green flag and raced at a handful of tracks in the Carolinas, with primary action at Cathey’s Creek MX and Harris Speedway in Rutherford County.

Among the big winners for the weekend were:

• Brilee Stott of Mill Spring earned a pair of second-place finishes and a first-place finish in Pit Bike at Travelers Rest MX, then competed at Cathey’s Creek MX and won the 85cc 9-13 class. He took second and third in two other classes as well.
• Tryon’s Mike Keller, who won a pair of adult classes at Cathey’s Creek.
• James Hoots of Mill Spring claimed the 85cc Beginner 9-15 event at Cathey’s Creek.
• Tryon’s Bailey Hipp won his heat and placed second in the Thunder Bomber main event at Harris Speedway.
