The Roseland Community Center, Inc., has been awarded two grants from the Polk County Community Foundation to assist with building repairs and programming. The grants total $11,000.

The first grant provides funds for replacing the steps to the back entrance to the community center and for putting the outside restroom facilities back in working condition. The second grant provides funds to assist with re-implementing RISE!, the Roseland Institute for Summer Enrichment, Roseland’s signature program for youth ages 6-12.

According to Dr. Warren Carson, Roseland’s longtime President, these grant awards come at a much-needed time. “With a building as old as Roseland, there is always something to repair or replace. PCCF’s generosity will help us maintain the facility so that it can continue to be enjoyed by the community. And of course we are greatly appreciative of the support for RISE!, as Roseland has always been first and foremost about our youth.” Specific plans for the abbreviated summer program will be announced in the near future, once the calendar and activities have been confirmed.
