Update on the town  

CAMPOBELLO—The Campobello City Council met on May 3 to discuss the current state of the town. Mayor Philip Wilds lead the invocation for the meeting with Council members, Lee Neves, Don Cohenour, Willie Matthews, and Reitha Stevenson all in attendance.  

Fire Chief Ed McNeil reported that the Campobello Fire Department responded to a total of 39 calls in the month of May. Fire Chief McNeil updated the City Council in regards to the Smoke Alarm Blitz that they took part in along with the Landrum Fire Department. Police Chief Chad McNeil reported that the Campobello Police Department responded to a total of 78 calls in May.

Police Chief Chad McNeil also started a letter notifying Capps Logging and the road erosion due to heavy traffic logging trucks and route traveling. The letter was certified by the board and sent to Capps Logging, they have 14 days to reply. 

Mayor Wilds acknowledged the years of service for Council Members, Lee Neves and Willie Matthews. New elected candidates for the City Council positions will be sworn in during the City Council Meeting in July.
