The Green Blades Garden Club is proud to award Wyndy Morehead the Second Wind Hall of Fame.

Wyndy and her husband Gene were uprooted from their home in New Orleans when Katrina came ashore. In New Orleans, Wyndy was President of Alliance Francaise and ran her own business, “Wyndy Morehead Fine Arts,” reping artists from Europe and America. Her volunteering skills as a Candy Striper for their hospital and as a Junior League member chairing part of their famous Cookbook were fulfilling. Wyndy’s loyalty to her church both here and in New Orleans is evident in her work in the Alter Guild in NO and her work at Holy Cross in Tryon.

Arriving in Tryon she hit the ground running joining the Tryon Garden Club where she was responsible for their “Artists in Residence” and designed a new marketing program for Pearson Falls, also joining the Upstairs Art Gallery, creating their “Art Treck. From there she came to the Green Blades Garden Club and again jumped in with both feet to be Co-Chair of the Ways and Means board, producing the Clubs main fundraiser.

Until recently she served as President of the ”Arts and Crafts” where she displayed her own pottery.

Wyndy is blessed with a wonderful family, Gene her husband and two charming adult children. She is a wonderfully motivated and determined woman who has created a lifestyle full of activities that reflect her personality.

The Second Wind Hall of Fame is a 501C3 organization that seeks to identify those outstanding volunteers over the age of 60 who contribute to the quality of life in our community.
