Columbus Fire Department Report

During the month of March, the Columbus Fire Department answered 98 calls for service.

In the town of Columbus, the department answered 31 calls, including 12 medical assists, one emergency medical service, three EMS calls, one motor vehicle accident with injuries, four motor vehicle accidents with no injuries, one hazardous condition, two service calls, one assist police or other governmental agency, one police matter, two dispatched and cancelled en route, one no incident found, one alarm system sounded due to malfunction and one citizen complaint.

In the Columbus Township, the department answered 58 calls, including one camper or recreational vehicle fire, one brush or brush and grass mixture fire, 27 medical assists, four EMS calls, two motor vehicle accident with injuries, four motor vehicle accidents with no injuries, five hazardous condition, one power line down, one smoke or odor removal, two public service assistance, one public service, one dispatched and cancelled en route, two no incident found, two smoke scare, two false alarms, one special type of incident and one citizen complaint.

In the Mill Spring district, the department answered two calls, including one for medical assist and one dispatched and cancelled en route.

In Saluda, the department answered four calls, including one dispatched and cancelled en route, one building fire, one motor vehicle accident with no injuries and one gasoline or other flammable liquid spill.

In Sunny View the department answered one call that was dispatched and cancelled en route.

In Tryon, the department answered two calls for fires.
