Columbus Fire Chief Tony Priester, who was on scene, said the call came in at 6:55 p.m. When emergency crews arrived the vehicle was completely inside the restaurant.

The driver of the vehicle, a young woman, who has not yet been identified, hit the gas instead of the brake. She was not injured.

There were people sitting on either side of the impact, but Priester said, thankfully, no one was sitting at the booth of the direct impact.

The vehicle was an older model four-door Mercury sedan.

The restaurant suffered significant damage, with crews cleaning up glass in the parking lot Friday night.

Cocula Mexican Grill is located at 338 W. Mills St., Columbus.
