Funding needed for local genealogy center

Did you know that genealogy has surpassed gardening as the most popular hobby in America? Genealogy, or the tracing of one’s ancestors, is a hobby that people everywhere are enthusiastically adopting.

The directors of the Polk County Historical Association are attempting to create a genealogy center in Columbus that will assist citizens and visitors alike who have family whose origins began in Polk County.

Unfortunately, attempts to receive funding from local foundations have gone unsatisfied so the directors are seeking help from the community. The historical association is attempting to raise $15,000 to purchase computers and other equipment to aid in the search of one’s ancestors.
