MountainTrue and Conserving Carolina to host a community picnic

Published 2:32 pm Tuesday, September 19, 2017

Join MountainTrue and Conserving Carolina for a community picnic at the shelter at Bradley Nature Preserve at Alexander’s Ford (part of the Overmountain National Historic Victory Trail) on the afternoon of Sunday, September 24 beginning at 1 p.m.

Meet the Green Riverkeeper and learn about his work and programs to make sure the Green River stays a healthy and clean place to swim, fish, paddle and play. We’ll also be celebrating the recent consolidation between Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy and Polk County-based Pacolet Area Conservancy, now named Conserving Carolina. Conserving Carolina played a major role in preserving the Bradley Nature Preserve at Alexander’s Ford. Come learn more about their work to permanently conserve, care for, and connect people to the places we treasure most.

There will be food and beverages, lawn games, and a three-mile, round-trip hike down the trail to the Green River. For more details, visit mountaintrue.org or conservingcarolina.org.
