A mangled Honda Civic has been placed across the street from Landrum High School in memory of Skyler Powell, a LHS student who died in a car accident on January 21, 2015. According to Powell’s mother, Tammy Taylor, she hopes students from the high school take notice of the vehicle and has launched a “Take Ten” driving awareness campaign based on Powell’s high school jersey number. The campaign urges students to take their time behind the wheel. Landrum High School will hold their prom this weekend, and Taylor said now is the time for students to be careful.
