Polk County residents to perform at Praising in the Park

Two Polk County residents will be among the 11 that will be performing at Praising in the Park this Saturday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m., at Rogers Park in Tryon.

India Godlock of Green Creek is a member of the Green Creek Missionary Baptist Church, sings in the choir and has membership on the praise team at the church. India Gadlock is 15 years old and is a sophomore at Polk County High School.

Steve Hardin of Tryon is the Music Minister of the Midway Baptist Church, Mill Spring who says he has been singing as long as he can remember. When asked why he enjoys singing, Steve’s reply was, “ I enjoy using the gift that God gave me to minister and uplift the lives of others, and hopefully it brings happiness into their lives.” Also from Polk County, the Moores Grove Dance Team of Mill Spring will be performing.

The show will also feature the following; Reverence, Spartanburg S.C.; The Golden Trumpets, Forest City N.C.; Monks Grove Adult Choir, Spartanburg S.C.; Divine Harmony Greensboro N.C.; The Telenaires of Forest City, N.C.; New Vernon Dance Team Bostic, N.C.; Bishop Tony Thompson, Hickory, N.C. and Georgia Washburn, Forest City, N.C.

Fox Carolina Weekend Meteorologist, Ted Phaeton of Greenville, S.C. and Anita Patterson of Spindale, N.C. will be the hosts for this event.

Admission is free. Food and drinks will be served.

Praising in the Park is sponsored by the Unity In the Community Organization and funded by a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation.
