Slow Food will be at Super Saturday providing the festivals visitors with lots of fresh, healthy food alternatives for snacks and lunch. Concessions are set up in the parking lot of Tryon Fine Arts Center. Concessions will be open from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. so come by and visit.
Sunday, Slow Food will be at Stone Soup in Landrum, home of the new pop-up restaurant Wanda & Ray’s Southern Kitchen. This month, Green was chosen as a theme to honor both St. Patrick’s Day and the greens that are popping up in local gardens. Please bring a dish to share and your own tableware (plates, bowls, silverware, napkins). With your dish, please bring a description denoting dishes that are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free (for people with dietary restrictions or food allergies) plus denote use of any local ingredients. Recipes are also encouraged as many people like to share. Potlucks are from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Slow Food Asheville Foothills is part of a global non-profit organization that believes clean, fair food for all is a right, not a privilege. The group gathers monthly at different locations throughout the Foothills to join around community and food. Slow Food potlucks are free and open to the public.
