In Polk County District Court held Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 157 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Stephanie Brown was convicted of operating a vehicle with no insurance. Brown was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Jonathan A. Goley was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Goley was fined $40 and court costs.

James Clemen Harrelson was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation out of county. Harrelson was sentenced to 48 hours in jail.

Joshua Scott Hicks was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Hicks was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Deveney A. Littlejohn was convicted of driving while license revoked. Littlejohn was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Jeffrey Glen McDuffie was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. McDuffie was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

William Robert Merrill was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Merrill was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Charles Christopher Miller was convicted of unlawful camping on Green River. Miller was fined $25 and court costs.

Darrel Jackson Moore was convicted of speeding 29 mph in a 20 mph zone. Moore was fined $30 and court costs.

Brian David O’Sullivan was convicted of child abuse. O’Sullivan was sentenced to 17 months in prison with credit for 18 days served.

Taina M. Torres was convicted of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Torres was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Eric Bobadia Valdes was convicted of driving while license revoked and fictitious information to officer. Valdes was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs.
