New wood cages

Residents brought in their heavy equipment to cut, split and move logs at Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry. Outreach has relocated the cages that contain the agency’s supply of firewood. These relocated cages will make it easier for Outreach clients to pick up firewood to heat their homes during the cold winter months. During 2011, Outreach supplied clients with nearly 100 truckloads of wood and the organization expects the need to be even greater with the forecasted colder temperatures this year. For residents or organizations interested in volunteering to cut or split wood, or donate wood, contact Jim McClintock at 828-894-2988. Outreach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1991. The organization’s mission is to provide compassionate assistance to Polk County residents who are unable to provide for their basic life needs.
