SALUDA—The season’s last two indoor winter farmers’ markets in Saluda will be held this Saturday, April 13, and next weekend on April 20. This Saturday, the Saluda Winter Marker will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Saluda Senior Center, and will feature a raffle for a free compost bin donated by Polk County Farms.

On both weekends, the markets will celebrate Earth Day, which is celebrated on April 22. This year’s Earth Day theme is ‘Planet vs. Plastics.’ The markets will honor the day by planting seeds in eggshells.

After a week’s break, the Summer Markets will start on May 3 and 4. The most significant change is the relocation of the Saluda Tailgate Market. It will be moving from the Saluda Center to Saluda Elementary School at 214 E. Main St. This new location will also have a new time, 30 minutes earlier than previous years, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays.

Maureen Mitchell, Polk County Farms’ event coordinator, shared, “We are excited about the change to the new location at Saluda Elementary. This move was made to provide more community engagement in a more visible location to better connect with downtown on a Friday evening, enhancing the market experience.”

The Columbus Summer Market will continue to be held at 40 Courthouse Square on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
