Unique fundraiser to offer disc golf, food and fun

 

TRYON—Outreach, a charitable organization that serves Polk County families and individuals needing assistance with day-to-day necessities such as food, heat and housing, is set to host its second annual Game of Throws Amateur Disc Golf Tournament at Harmon Field on Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

The organization welcomes disc golf players of all ages and skill levels to the 18-hole course at Harmon Field Park for the event. 

Last year’s event saw participants from across western North Carolina and the Upstate come together to enjoy the park’s beauty while playing on the accessible and well-maintained course. 

Sponsored by Back Alley Boutique & Bud Bar, Artistry Above, Saluda Outfitters, Ashworth Financial Group and Mountain Sky Builders, the event costs $25 to play, and registration includes a Game of Throws t-shirt. 

In addition, participants are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite “May the 4th be with you” attire, adding to the festive and celebratory atmosphere of the tournament. Snacks and lunches are available for purchase, and beer and wine will also be offered for sale.
