Sully’s Place is  a culinary destination that promises to elevate your dining experience with a top-notch menu that goes beyond the typical offerings. The restaurant aims to be a go-to spot for food enthusiasts and those looking to indulge in a memorable meal.

Owner Shannon Sullivan envisions Sully’s Place as more than just a restaurant, but as a culinary haven that serves excellent food as well as a wide selection of beer and cocktails.

Although there are two fully stocked bars to cater to your beverage preferences Sullivan and staff say that the food will be the main focus of the restaurant.

“We’re a restaurant with great food that serves alcohol, not a bar that serves food,” said Bar Manager Josh Doup on Thursday.

Sullivan, a chef who has worked at restaurants in Florida and Myrtle Beach, and her husband Dan moved to the area from Florida to be closer to her parents, who live in Tryon.

“When we moved here, we dreamed of opening a small restaurant when we retired,” said Sullivan. “When this location became available, I decided the time was right, and we jumped in with both feet.”

She then brought in Chef Joel Vasquez, who has worked in numerous top-of-the-line restaurants  including Bon Jovi’s restaurant Soul Food and for Gordon Ramsey’s former sous chef Avery Brown at the Asbury Park Beer Garden. Together, they have created a menu that perfectly combines their two styles.

Chef Joel Vasquez sits in the lobby of Sully’s Place, which offers a menu featuring something for everyone.

“Our goal was to take some of the favorite dishes from the area and elevate it above the normal fare,” says Vasquez.

The dinner menu, which debuts in two weeks will feature a Ribeye with compound butter, a Sirloin with Chimichurri, Cedar Plank Salmon, Seared Tuna, Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips and a Shrimp Garden pasta in cream sauce, along with an array of specials to liven up the menu.

Their current menu features delicious salads, desserts, and appetizers such as peel-and-eat shrimp, chicken quesadillas and  french-cut wings offered in a variety of different flavors.

The sandwich menu showcases something for everyone, including Beef on Weck, a Northern classic given a unique twist, Reubens, Pulled Pork, a Club Wrap, Cubano and more. They also have a kid’s menu featuring chicken fingers and hot dogs.

There are plans for a free veterans lunch, karaoke, and trivia nights in the future. They are also dedicating a wall to our veterans, where family members can bring in a picture to celebrate a service member.

Sully’s is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays. To book a reservation, call 828-802-1191.
