MILL SPRING—Guiding Reins, a non-profit organization that provides equine-assisted support to veterans, first responders and their families, will host a  benefit golf Tournament on Monday, April 22  at Bright’s Creek Golf Club in Mill Spring.

The fundraiser aims to support the wellness programs offered by Guiding Reins at no cost to the participants. These programs help individuals deal with the high-stress, high-risk environments and frequent exposure to traumatic events that veterans and first responders face regularly, which can have long-term psychological impacts on their well-being and their families.

Guiding Reins was founded in 2018 to provide equine-assisted peer-to-peer support, small group and one-on-one opportunities to work with horses to help individuals learn how to heal, along with online resources.

The Bright’s Creek Golf Club, which boasts a Tom Fazio-designed golf course known for its player-friendly layout, will host the tournament. The course is ranked #37 by Golf Digest and captures the golfer’s playing ability on every hole while artfully blending into the rustic mountain scenery.

“We are excited to host this event and raise funds for our wellness programs that provide much-needed support to our veterans, first responders, and their families,” said Diane Prewitt, Founder of Guiding Reigns on Thursday. “This is an excellent opportunity for golf enthusiasts to enjoy a day of golf at one of the best courses in the country while supporting a worthy cause.”

The tournament is open to all, and participants can register online through April 12th on the Guiding Reins website, guidingreins.org/golf-tournament. Donations and sponsorship opportunities are also accepted for those who cannot attend but still want to contribute to the cause.
