The Polk County High School Athletic Department has named Sarah Vitale and Avery Harden as its Athletes of the Week for the period ending March 16.

Vitale finished 6-for-9 with two home runs and six RBI during the week. She was 2-for-3 with two homers and five RBI in Polk’s 23-8 loss at Hendersonville on Friday.

Harden posted a 74 to lead the field in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference golf match at Cleghorn Golf and Country Club. Harden took medalist honors by two shots and currently sits in second place in the conference’s season-long individual standings.
