GREEN CREEK—The Friends of Ag Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, March 20, at the Green Creek Community Center.

The event is free and open to the public. Oliva Gray, MountainTrue’s newest AmeriCorps member, will be the guest speaker. Gray will discuss some of MountainTrue’s initiatives and how they help mitigate negative environmental impacts in the area.

Local farmers, growers and other food producers will provide fresh ingredients for a delicious complimentary country breakfast. To help make the event sustainable, attendees are asked to bring their coffee mugs and plates.

MountainTrue is the sponsor of this month’s FOA breakfast. The organization champions resilient forests, clean waters and healthy communities in the southern Blue Ridge. They envision thriving communities in the mountain region that are connected to and help sustain both each other and the natural environment.

The Friends of Ag Breakfast has been held for the past 12 years and has featured speakers from many local farms and other agricultural experts in their fields. It is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and connect with community support agencies that help maintain the beautiful, rural agricultural county.
