SALUDA—Mountain Page Theater in Saluda has announced two upcoming fundraisers to help pay for repairs to the theater’s roof. Additionally, registration for the Young Actors Krew six-week summer camp will open on March 1.

On Monday, February 26, the theater will host Irmy’s Fashion Show, with all proceeds going toward the new roof.

“Irmy has run her shop, the Dressing Room, in Tryon and Saluda for over a decade,” says Mountain Page Theatre Executive Director Corinne Gerwe. “And as she prepares to close the Dressing Room, the Fashion Show will be a unique opportunity for customers to express their gratitude to Irmy for her years of supporting the local community.”

Refreshments will be served at the event and attendees are encouraged to wear an ‘Irmy fashion’ to show their support. The event begins at 2 p.m., and tickets are $25 each.

Then, on March 9, a second fundraiser will take place at the theater. The Broadway Variety Show will be a one-night show with numerous performances, silent auction items and refreshments. Once again, all proceeds will go towards the theater’s new roof. The show will feature performances from beloved Broadway hits like Cabaret, Phantom, Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables, Cinderella and Hello Dolly.

“We’ve got such an amazingly talented group of players in the theater, and we were looking for a way to show what they could do,” said Mountain Page Players Facilitator Ashley Sandahl. “We all love Broadway, so we decided to do a variety show where we picked our favorite musicals. The show will feature lots of singing, comedy and excellent performances.”

The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction where attendees can bid on packages such as a weekend in Saluda, a week in The Villages, Florida, and a sunset cruise in the Florida Keys.

Tickets for the Broadway Variety Show are $20 each and include one beverage. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7. The event will also have a selection of beer, wine and high-end appetizers available for sale.

In between the fundraisers, Mountain Page Theater will be opening registration for its six-week summer camp on March 1. The summer camp will run from June 4 to July 14 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp allows children to learn everything from designing sets to sound, lighting and acting, and it will conclude with two public matinee shows in July. The camp is for children five and up, and there is a one-time registration fee of $100.
