GREEN CREEK—The Friends of Agriculture Breakfast returns for its 12th year on Wednesday, November 15. The breakfast will take place at 7 a.m. at the Green Creek Community Center.

This free, public event will feature fresh ingredients provided by local farmers, growers and other food producers, including local sausage, eggs, sweet potatoes, breads, jams and jellies, fresh greens and locally roasted coffee. AgSouth Farm Credit, Green Creek Farm Supply, and Overmountain Vineyards are sponsoring this month’s breakfast.

The Friends of Agriculture Breakfast has been a staple of the community for many years, featuring speakers from local farms and experts on agriculture. This month’s guest speaker will be Ben Barham, Emergency Program Specialist from the NC Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Science, Emergency Services Division. Barham will give an overview of how their division plans for, responds to and recovers from emergencies that may impact the agriculture community of Polk County.
