On September 2, the Columbus Market will feature “Get Messy in Columbus,” a Sloppy Joe tasting hosted by Luken’s Land & Cattle. The event will also feature watermelon snow cones served by Polk County Farms, along with games for kids.

Luken’s Land & Cattle, a regular vendor at the market, is a family-owned company that raises 100% grass-fed beef, antibiotic and hormone-free beef and pork, and pastured poultry in Campobello.

The Saluda Tailgate Market will celebrate “All Things Apples” on September 8, featuring an apple-tasting table with special vendors Upland Orchards and High Rock Farms. There will also be performances by bluegrass/Americana band Asheville Junction.

On back-to-back weekends, starting September 15, both markets will host collection sites for “Feed the Foothills,” a food drive coinciding with the Harmon Field Music Festival on September 23. A donation dropoff station for canned goods and shelf-stable food will be set up at both markets.

The Columbus Market will also welcome the Foothills Humane Society on September 16 to promote local pet adoption.
