Family Fun Day planned for Polk Campus of ICC

COLUMBUS—Isothermal Community College is hosting Polk Family Fun Day on Wednesday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event will take place on the Polk Campus at 1255 W. Mills St., in Columbus
The day’s events will include three short films, starting with the Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris LessMore, followed by Simon’s Cat: Pupsitting and Crow: The Legend. Story time will be held at 12:15, 1:30, and 2:45 p.m. in the auditorium.
“Don’t miss out on this exciting event,” says Amy Galla, Director of College and Career Readiness. “Come join Isothermal Community College and its partners for a day of family fun and community engagement.”
Families can enjoy various activities, including games and crafts. Community partners included in the event are Polk County Library, Steps to HOPE, Polk County Parks and Recreation, NCWorks, NextGen, Thermal Belt Habitat for Humanity, Centro Unido Latino-Americano, Share Thy Bread food pantry, Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Polk County Emergency Medical Services. They will be present in the parking lot, providing fun activities, giveaways and information about the services they offer to the community. In addition, WNCW and the Pony Punch food truck will be on-site.
Isothermal Community College serves Polk and Rutherford counties, offering over 100 associate degrees, diplomas and certificates that prepare students for transfer or immediate employment. Isothermal is also an accredited institution that provides short-term, non-degree programs in healthcare, hospitality, emergency services and more.
