Screenings, information from providers and more at free event
COLUMBUS – On Friday, May 5, St. Luke’s Hospital will hold a free community health fair at The Meeting Place. Attendees will be able to take advantage of a variety of free health services, including blood pressure screenings and prostate cancer lab screenings. In addition, scheduling for 3D mammogram appointments will be available on-site. The St. Lukes’s health Fair will take place from 4 to 6 p.m.
St. Luke’s providers are also scheduled to be on hand to provide information on various health and wellness topics. These local providers include St. Luke’s Urology, Senior Life Solutions, Saluda Family Medicine, and St. Luke’s Cancer and Infusion Center.
“St. Luke’s has received grant funding from the Duke Endowment to provide community health education,” said Amanda Thompson, VP of Operations and St. Luke’s Foundation Executive Director. “The hospital will be providing free health education to the public through events like the Health Fair.”
The first 100 attendees to the event will receive free boxed dinners from Biazzo Deli.
The Meeting Place is located at 75 Carmel Lane in Columbus. Its goal is to improve the lives of seniors through opportunities for active aging, socialization, health promotion, and education.
